He was born in Detroit, Michigan, grew up in East Tennessee, did his undergraduate work at the University of Tennessee, and went to law school at the University of Michigan. Jesse began his law career in 1977, doing complex commercial litigation in Miami, Florida. He transitioned from a trial lawyer to a business lawyer, and moved to the Lake Norman region in 2006.
